Responsibilities and expectations
- Build and ship product features: deliver across the stack with an emphasis on reliability, usability, and performance
- Data model and persistence: design and evolve relational schemas; own how features are modeled and stored
- Back-end development: implement REST APIs using TypeScript and Node.js
- Front-end development: build responsive, accessible UIs in React
- Practice sound engineering: write tests (unit/integration), review code, and document decisions
- Security by default: apply secure coding practices (including authZ-aware APIs and careful handling of sensitive data); stay current on security best practices
- Monitor and operate in production: add logging, metrics, and alerting for what you ship; debug issues and drive root-cause fixes
- Collaborate on product direction: contribute to ideation, scoping, and prioritization
Qualifications
Required
- 2–5 years of professional software development experience (or equivalent demonstrated track record), with consistent delivery of high-quality production code
- Strong with TypeScript and Node.js; solid familiarity with React
- Experience building REST-based services
- Experience designing relational data models
- Product-oriented mindset, strong work ethic, and comfort owning features end-to-end with limited oversight
Nice to have
- Postgres experience
- Familiarity with CI/CD, cloud platforms, and monitoring/observability tools
- Interest in regulated or domain-heavy product work (finance, compliance, fiduciary operations)
